Derby Day

  • Saint Lou's Assembly 664 West Lake Street Chicago, IL, 60661 United States (map)

Join us Out Back for a Kentucky Derby viewing extravaganza with food and beverage specials, a “best hat” contest, and plenty of TVs for spectators.

Derby Day will kick off at 2pm with the first annual Run for the Rosé, an industry obstacle course around the block. Come cheer on your favorite local servers, bartenders, front and back-of-house employees as they move through a Chicago-centric obstacle course, all while holding a tray of rosé without spilling. Stakes are high, as the winner will receive a brand new iPad.

As for the spectators, we’ll have regionally-themed food specials and cocktails made with Jim BeamMaker's Mark, and Knob Creek. That'll include $8 Mint Juleps, extra special Juleps for $16, and a hot brown benedict for $14, made with turkey and Tasso ham, poached egg, and pimento mournay sauce on and everything English muffin. Guests will also be able to participate in a race of their own, as we’re bringing in a horse-racing video game for the day.

The big race will take place around 5:30pm, but we’ll be showing every race leading up to the main event so you can hang with us all afternoon and into the evening. Dress to impress, as the guest who dons the best hat gets a special prize.
